The Hiking Teacher
How is your work-life balance? Mine definitely changes throughout the year. I found that so much of my time and energy during the school year was put into my job as a teacher, that when summer rolled around, I didn’t know how to occupy my time. Crochet? Not engaging enough. Piano? Can’t do that outside. Read? Nothing piques my interest.
While traveling back from my honeymoon with my husband, I told him I wanted to find something to do with my time over the summer but I was stumped.
As I scrolled on my phone, I came across a Lancaster County’s Hiking Bucket List. This is a list of 10 trails near me that were recommended for great hiking, two of which I have already visited. I love hiking and spending time outdoors enjoying nature! I decided I would follow this guide and try hiking once or twice a week to keep me busy.
I visited the very first trail on the list: Lake Grubb Nature Park.
This first hike worked out perfectly because it was in the same direction I would need to go to pick up our marriage license. (Yay!)
Is that it?
I hiked the trail, took a few pictures, and left the park. What now? It seemed a bit anticlimactic to me. I considered posting my pictures on social media, but that’s not my style.
That’s where this blog comes in!
Instead of bombarding everyone on social media with my hiking pictures, I decided to make this blog. That way, each of my hikes are together in one place for anyone interested in hearing about my adventures.
I hope you follow along!
My name is Camryn Melton. I hope my blog helps you find some great locations to visit!
Whether with friends, family, or just by myself, I enjoy discovering new places in nature to hike. The exercise helps me destress, and the beauty surrounding me is peaceful.
